PhD in Public Health; PhD project: Cross-sectoral partnerships in real life: A case study of the Global Fund for AIDS, TB and Malaria in Ethiopia

Dr Henock B. Taddese is a Senior Teaching Fellow in Public Health and Co-Director of the Master of Public Health (MPH) Programme at Imperial College London. He has studied public heath in Ethiopia, the UK and Denmark. He obtained his PhD from the School of Health and Related Research (ScHARR), University of Sheffield, where he explored the roles and influences of Global Public Private Partnerships in advancing global health goals, through an in-depth analysis of the work of the Global Fund for AIDS, TB and Malaria in Ethiopia. He completed his masters in public health from the University of Sheffield and University of Copenhagen. He undertook his undergraduate training in public health at Debub University, Dilla College of Health Sciences and Education (now ‘Hawassa University’), Ethiopia.

Henock has worked for different international non-governmental organisations coordinating a range of public health projects, in Ethiopia and Uganda. He currently teaches subjects related to research methods, policy analysis, needs assessment and project management and global health governance. He is co-module lead for the Research Methods module on the MPH and MSc in Epidemiology Courses, and co-specialisation lead for the Research Portfolio on the Global Master of Public Health Programme (online). Henock’s research interests include health service/policy evaluation studies, systematic reviews, and mixed methods approaches utilising both secondary and primary data.

 


Research Interests

Health policy analysis, commercial determinants of health, health behaviour studies utilising nationally representative datasets, mixed methods studies.
