Career and Professional Development Program

Our continuing Career and professional development opportunities are here to help you to achieve your goals, to work in new and innovative ways and to progress and develop your career.

Enrolled healthcare professionals will be certified at the end of the year in partnership with the Ministry of Health.

The career and professional development program will have is a series of webinars focusing on different topics that will help Health care professionals on their career and professional development, the program will run every year. The programs will have 9 sessions in the year, the sessions will take place four to six weeks.

About Career and professional development program

HCPs need to enroll to be part of the 1 year program

A series of webinars will be held every 6 weeks

Enrolled HCPs are expected to attend all the sessions

Enrolled health care professionals will be certified at the end of the year granted they have attended all the sessions

Eligibility Criteria

  1. Medical students & Nurses currently enrolled in an Ethiopian medical school, a recent graduate or any healthcare professional

  2. Commitment to formally partake in the program for the year

  3. Willing to attend a minimum of 6 sessions in the year.

Professor Miliard Derbew is a professor of pediatrics surgery at the College of Health Sciences, Addis Ababa University and adjunct professor in UniversityToronto surgical department and Wilson center. He is the principal investigator for Medical Education Partnership Initiative Junior Faculty project for Ethiopia, MEPI-JF and Health Education Partnership initiative HEPI. He was the principal investigator of Medical Education Partnership (MEPI) project, a five years (2010– 2015) project, which was a consortium of four medical schools in Ethiopia and five universities in the United States, focused on building institutional capacity.

You can apply via the signup form that will be provided by us when a new cycle starts in January 2024.

Will the program have CEU points?

No, you will not be rewarded CEU points but you will be provided a certificate of completion.
